Privacy policy

Kotowa does not collect your data. It has no account, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking.

The app

Your packs, reading progress and settings are stored on your device only. We do not receive them, and the app has no server of ours to send them to.

The app makes a network request in two cases, both started by you:

• Adding a pack by address. When you type an address and tap Add, the app downloads the pack from that address. The server at that address can see your IP address and what you downloaded, as with any download. We do not operate that server and have no access to it.
• Opening a link. Some screens link to other sites: jisho.org, wanikani.com, the EDRDG licence page, and the download page for a demo pack's video on this website. A pack can also link to a page of its own. The link opens in your browser, and that site's own privacy policy applies.

Kotowa stores packs in its folder in the Files app, so you can see, copy and delete them there. Deleting the app deletes its packs, progress and settings.

This website

The site is delivered through Cloudflare, which processes your IP address and request details to deliver and protect the site, under Cloudflare's privacy policy. Our own server keeps no access logs. If a request causes a server error, the server records that request, including your IP address, in its system log for troubleshooting.

The site sets no cookies and has no analytics of its own.

Children

Kotowa collects no personal data from anyone, including children.
