Questions

How do I add a pack?

On the Library screen, tap Add pack and choose a pack's .zip file in Files. To download a pack from a server instead, type its address in the field on the same screen and tap Add.

Where can I get packs?

Kotowa includes three demo packs. Other packs are ones you or other people make. Kotowa does not sell or supply packs, and you are responsible for having the right to use the content of any pack you add. To make your own, see Make your own pack.

How do I remove a pack?

Open the pack, go to Settings, and tap Remove pack. A pack that came with the app can be brought back with Restore on the Library screen. Packs you added are also in Kotowa's folder in the Files app.

Can I read offline?

A pack that is stored on your device works offline. For a pack that comes from a server, use Settings, then Download parts for offline.

What does Kotowa do with my data?

Nothing leaves your device. See the privacy policy.

Where does the dictionary come from?

From JMdict. The files are the property of the Electronic Dictionary Research and Development Group and are used under its licence. Credits and open-source licences are in the app under Settings, then About.
